How To Save Money Whilst Shopping

I love clothes, which I don't really think is a problem but I know my bank account and my wardrobe beg to differ. I do splurge on some items but I also know how to save money where I can because when you really love clothes it just becomes second nature to look for good deals.

Student Discount
This one is obviously very specific but it is an essential for me. I take advantage of my Student Discount everywhere I can. Make sure to have the Unidays and Student Beans apps on your phone because when special discounts roll around (I've got 20% off at River Island and 50% off at Missguided before) you get to be one of the first to know.

Shoptagr
I love this app! You can get it on your phone but I've only got it on my Macbook and my iPad. In short, this app links to your Google Chrome and when you're shopping on your favourite sites and find something that you love you can save them to a virtual list and when it goes into the sale or any discounts are running on the website, you'll get a notification and you can add it straight to your basket.

Sign Up To Mailing Lists
I know they can be annoying but in my experience you do tend to get sent quite a few coupon codes through them. PrettyLittleThing love to send free next day delivery codes with their emails so make sure you keep an eye on that.

Don't Sleep On eBay or Depop
These two are gold, people overlook them and you can find some real gems on them. The saying one mans trash is another mans treasure is definitely true. I don't shop on them all the time but when I do I'm rarely disappointed. I've got a few beauties from Depop recently which I've style on the blog, here and here. eBay I tend to look at when there's some pieces that I see for extortionate prices on fast fashions sites, if I want to try the trend for cheap eBay tends to be my first stop.

Don't Shop In Groups
It took me some time to realise this, but when I shop with multiple people I tend to buy things that I otherwise may have left. When you aren't sure on a dress your girls tend to egg you on, letting you know how fab you look and before you know it you've picked it up in three other colours. That can be avoided if you go by yourself you tend to think more about your purchases.

Don't Buy What Doesn't Go With Your Wardrobe
I'm not saying don't branch out but be realistic, my overall aesthetic is pretty casual with urban elements so when I've bought super girly dresses with lace and eyelash details, chances are I won't get much wear out of them. Try to buy pieces that will fit in with your wardrobe and your style.

Sell What You Don't Wear!
Something I've started doing is selling the clothes that aren't getting any use on Depop, (shameless plug but be sure to check out my Depop: RenBreaux) I'm trying to stick to a general rule where if I haven't worn it in 6 months it's gotta go. I've managed to accumulate so many clothes in the time I've been in uni yet I always feel like I have nothing to wear, which makes no sense. As I'm decluttering everything I feel a lot more content with my wardrobe as I actually know I like and wear everything that's in there.

Do you have any tips to save money that I may have missed out? Make sure to tell me as you can see I love to save where I can
