HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
First off let me say I'm not really a person who's a big believer in resolutions as I have the attention span of a goldfish and therefore it means I'm super likely to fall off the resolution wagon and then feel like poop because of the fact. But as I've said 1000 times I'm feeling good! I went down to Urban Outfitters and got myself the second marble journal I've been banging on about and I'm going to sit down and plan out my bullet journal for 2017 straight after this post. I've tried to make sure my resolutions can be tracked using the SMART goals method so with any luck we'll be seeing the progress at the end of 2017.
Do Weekly Budgets
I bet everyone's tired of me saying how rubbish I am when it comes to money..but no more! (I hope) I downloded the Spendlytics app which connects to my Apple pay and seeing how much I can spend in one week just may be the shock to the system I needed. I never seem to realise how much I spend until the transactions hit my account at the same time and have me scared for my life. I have a pretty solid idea of what I have coming in every week and it's my frivolous spending that always gets in the way. So in 2017 I will be trying to budget more and if I want something, there's no problem adding it to the cart and letting it sit there for a while.
Hit The Gym
I was actually going to the gym not too long ago but as the weather got colder my motivation fizzled out. But I know the cold weather is really no excuse for me not to exercise as if I'm really as determined as I think I am then I should be willing to battle the cold if I really desire my "ideal" body.
Find Another Media Based Work Experience/Internship
A positive of 2016 was my week at Channel 4 which you can read about here. It was super beneficial for me and it made me really think about my future and what direction I want to go into. I still have two years of university left and I know that between now and the beginning of my final year I want to have secured another media based experience of some sort just to further my knowledge, as great as uni is, I feel like I learnt more in that week than I learnt in a semester and that's saying something.
Start A Bullet Journal
Well I'm halfway there! I bought a notebook and I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to be setting out my journal and I want to include things like fitness and a blogging schedule alongside it so I see a more organised Renny on the horizon.
Learn Azeri Phrases/Some Spanish
I want to expand my linguistic barriers. That sounds so posh. I just wish I knew more languages. Spanish is a language I've always wanted to learn but GCSE Spanish seemed to not be my thing (my spanish teacher was french guys I was doomed from the start) but I'm not a quitter and so I'm going to try to look more into it this new year. Azerbaijani is also something I want to learn, partially because I'm nosy.
Grow My Blog
I'm proud of my baby blog, I checked my stats and I'm on about 3k views, considering the fact I only started being serious about it in about September I feel like I've been doing pretty well. Maybe this is pushing it but I'm hoping to hit 15k views by the end of 2017, but I do feel if I'm consistent and get out some good content then there's no reason for me not to achieve this!
Post One "Good" Post A Week
This doesn't mean one good post and one rubbish one. It just means I want produce content I'm proud of and sometimes when life gets in the way it's easier to just write a rubbish post/not post at all. I don't want to do that anymore. I'm thinking to post 1-2 a week and really work on my social media engagement. I also want to put time into every post and be proud of them all. This means I have to plan them about in advance and try to put more time aside for the blog.
Learn About Philosophy
Random, I know, but I've taken a bit of an interest in philosophy, it was never something offered to me as a subject to study so I feel like I missed out a bit. This year I want to learn more about it just to broaden my knowledge if anything.
What are your resolutions/goals? Feel free to let me know!
Ren x
